Description
As our PR/Marketing intern, you will be responsible for promoting all Wisconsin Singers events and recruitment efforts. Your marketing expertise will help us elevate awareness of our performances and increase our overall ticket sales. We are looking for self-driven, organized individuals who will use their strong communication skills to market our presence throughout campus and the Midwest. Gain real-world experience and business skills to boost your resume.
This position requires in-person work in Madison, WI with the opportunity for projects to be completed remotely on an as-needed basis. This internship is unpaid however students have the opportunity to earn scholarship funds. You are able to earn credit for this internship through JOURN 697: Internship credit (1 credit).
Job Description:
– Promote events and shows through press releases, media interviews (print, television, and radio), and personal interest story pitches
– Create ad copy for digital and print materials
– Complete market research to expand our promotional efforts
– Conduct recruitment efforts for our various opportunities on campus and across Wisconsin
– Work alongside business and industry professionals while building a strong communication network with media contacts, sponsors, and marketing volunteers
About Wisconsin Singers:
For over 50 years, the Wisconsin Singers has been touring the country with brand new broadway-caliber productions each season, created to engage audience members of any age. The Wisconsin Singers take the lead as performers onstage or behind the scenes in backstage/entertainment management internships. This troupe is dedicated to personal and academic excellence: Wisconsin Singers have a higher average GPA than the average undergraduate GPA on UW-Madison’s campus. As “Official Ambassadors of Goodwill” for the University, the Wisconsin Singers raise thousands of dollars for arts and service programs around the state.
