Mian “Gloria” Wei (She/They) is a PhD student in the SJMC at the UW–Madison. She holds a Research MA from UW-Madison and a Bachelor of Social Science from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Her research explores how power is reproduced and resisted through digital media, with a focus on the intersections of gender, sexuality, race, and popular culture. Before graduate school, she interned at Ogilvy China and the Organizational Culture Department of ByteDance. In her free time, Gloria enjoys swimming, traveling, reading, binge-watching TV shows, and walking on the frozen Lake Mendota.
